the spy who let himself get painted
James Hart Dyke spent a year as artist-in-residence with MI6, the British spy agency. He created a series of pieces based on his time spent with the agency that are now being exhibited at the Mount Street Galleries in London. The piece above is Waiting in the Hotel Room, and the piece below is Toy Duck, about which Dyke writes:
“When you become part of this world, when you get under its skin, you realise that any object, however trivial, might be connected to an operation,” says Hart Dyke. “That changes the whole axis of the ordinary world around you.”
