getting excited, old school style

Excuse the 15-year-old styling of this post, but this is the kind of news that makes me feel approximately 15: to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of Our Band Could Be Your Life, the absolutely essential history of the rise of American indie rock, there's a tribute show being put on at the Bowery. Pitchfork reports on the laundry list of bands showing up to play cover sets in tribute to their forebears--

(The Dirty Projectors' Black Flag (fittingly), St. Vincent will play Big Black, Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements, Ted Leo will play Minor Threat, tUnE-yArDs will play Sonic Youth, Dan Deacon will play theButthole Surfers, Wye Oak will play Dinosaur Jr., Buke & Gass will play Fugazi, and Delicate Steve will play the Minutemen

And in case you can't guess which part of that sent my heart rate toward the ceiling, Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements Titus Andronicus will play the Replacements ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why can't I buy tickets yet
